A loss for words

The past month or so of traveling has been an absolute whirlwind. I know there is so much to catch you all up on and I fully plan to write out as much as I can about my adventures in Colombia, why I'd decided to come back to Costa Rica and what I've been up to. But first I'll update you on why it's been weeks since my last blog post, and no, it's not because life has been full of adventure (although it has been).

Minutes after sending out my last blog post, my laptop screen went completely black. No matter how much I charged it, it wouldn't turn back on. In utter confusion I brought it to a store in Quepos to get checked out and see what was up. At this point in time, I had already lost or had stolen multiple things so nothing came surprising to me. After five days of waiting, the diagnosis of my computer had come back that my logic board had been damaged from overheating (thank you humid Costa Rica) and would cost about $800 to fix. Now I bought this Macbook Pro computer last year when my other one was stolen from my car and it was around $1100 plus a 2018 computer. So there wasn't much of a point to fix this computer and after much discussion I decided to just buy a new computer.

Unfortunately, shipping anything to Costa Rica can become complicated and get to be quite expensive. Shipping cost around $100, and that doesn't include insurance if you want it, import tax on a computer is 13% here, plus there is also a month-long wait through customs. So while I still figure out the details of getting me a computer, I will be updating you all from my work computer I was given from the hostel I am currently working at (yes, you'll get an update on this too).

I am still in Costa Rica and am right now in Playa Grande, which is up the cost from Quepos/Manuel Antonio. It's a small, quiet and adorable little town that I absolutely love. Thanks for keeping up with me and cannot wait to let you all know on what's been going on!
